Founder: Seliat Agboola
Frustrated by her students’ in repetition of ‘I can’t do it’ Seliat founded The Math Pit to help develop students’ mathematical resilience and prepare them for their futures. Seliat loves teaching because it marries her love for academics and mathematics with her love for encouraging, inspiring and motivating young people to achieve their potential regardless of personal circumstances. Seliat is an award winning teacher, examiner and researcher. She is a Teach First Ambassador and has completed her masters in Mathematics Education. She’s made it her life’s work to bring the very best out of her students and ensure they excel in maths and believe in their abilities. She’s invested in researching the best tried & tested methods to do this and regularly trains other teachers nationally and internationally in these methods.
